How long will my furniture take to come in?

Lead times vary from product to product. Curtains, Blinds and Floorcoverings usually take approximately 4 weeks from the point of order whereas furniture can be anything from 4 weeks to 14 weeks. On ordering, your salesperson will usually be able to give you a rough guide as to an approximate lead time for your chosen product.

Why does furniture take so long to come in?

Furniture generally takes so long to come in as it is all made to each individual order. Most cabinet furniture is made overseas so transport time has to be allowed for. Upholstery takes time as there are so many combinations of fabrics and styles to choose from so each piece is made from scratch and sometimes upholstered by hand.

How/when do we pay?

A 25% deposit is required at the point of order. The remainder of the balance is then payable two clear working days before delivery or fitting. In the store we accept all major credit and debit cards (excluding American Express) and cash. We do still accept cheque payments but these must be received a full seven working days before your delivery date.

Will you let us know when the goods come in?

Once the goods are booked into our warehouse we notify you either by email, phone or letter and arrange delivery on a mutually convenient date.

What shall i do with my old furniture?

We offer a disposal service for all furniture and flooring. We make a small charge of £35 for this, £5 of which we donate to our sponsored local charity, Newark and District Hospice Aid based on London Road in Newark. Disposal arrangements and payment for this service must be made two clear days before your agreed delivery or fitting date.

Can we negotiate on price?

At Holdens we pride ourselves on offering you the best quality products at the lowest cash prices. However if you do find a like for like product at a cheaper price within a 35 mile radius. See our Price Promise web page for full details.

What guarantee do you offer?

As a company we offer a one year guarantee on all of our products. However our after sales support team are always available to help and advise you.

How much is delivery?

Our delivery service is free to all customers within a 35 mile distance of Newark town centre. Outside of these areas a reasonable charge is made dependant on the distance and item/s purchased.

When do you deliver?

We deliver from 9am until 5pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and we can specify either a morning or afternoon delivery. On the day of delivery our staff can also telephone you from their vehicle an agreed length of time before we expect to arrive for your delivery. This service must be requested when you book your delivery with us.

Do you deliver to certain areas on certain days?

Our delivery dates are filled in on a first come, first served basis. Once one space is booked then the rest of that morning or afternoon is filled within the same area. Local deliveries are usually available most days, however we often become booked up for a week or more in advance so please contact us as early as possible.
